Ephesians 4:4-6 says; There is one body and one spirit…there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all. (NIV)
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls…so then each of us will give an account of himself to God…so whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God."
Romans 14:1,4,12,22(New International Version)
"If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains but have no love, I amount to nothing at all."
I Corinthians 13:2 (New International Version)
“Love makes up for almost anything.”
I Pt 4:8 Message Bible
Love covers a multitude. Love allows multitudes of diverse people to come together. Once people love each other, the differences no longer divide. This is God’s love as he instructs as that nothing can separate us from His love (Rom 8:35). We seek to foster safe space as God covers us as a multitude.
“…but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.”
Matthew 23:23, (New Living Translation)
What weighs more than giving money is giving justice and mercy to others. Others live in poverty, hunger, and displacement. According to Jesus, we are no longer to ignore matters of justice; in fact, justice matters are to be pursued and chased down until accomplished (Deuteronomy 16:20). Show justice and mercy by giving and going to Haiti. Give life to those who need it most.
